17.7 billion yuan for power grid upgrades and renovations
To help accelerate the construction of a beautiful new Hainan, the Southern Power Grid Hainan Company launched a three-year action plan for power grid enhancement in 2017, investing 17.7 billion yuan for power grid upgrades and renovations, which is the total investment for the entire "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.
The second 500 kV cross-sea interconnection project in China has also begun construction, upgrading the Hainan power grid from "double ring network coastal coverage" to "three-channel east-west connectivity."
In 2017, the average annual power outage time per household in the province was reduced by 11.6 hours, a year-on-year decrease of 27% compared to 2016. The average power outage time per household in the central urban areas of Haikou and Sanya was 4.3 hours, a year-on-year decrease of 7.91 hours, down 64.8%. The transfer rate of 10 kV public lines in the distribution network increased from 36% to 52.5%, and the cable coverage rate in urban towns increased from 21% to 28%. All indicators of the power grid have significantly improved, with remarkable achievements in various special tasks, and the power supply guarantee capacity has further increased.
In the 30 years since Hainan established its province and special zone, the Hainan power grid has grown together with the Hainan special zone. From hardware to software, from facilities to concepts, the Hainan power grid, which is about to undergo a transformation, will actively serve the construction of the free trade zone and free trade port, injecting vigorous momentum into the beautiful new Hainan.
