On April 20, the dual-ring network (closed-loop) fast-breaking intelligent distributed power distribution automation system independently developed by the Guangdong Zhongshan Power Supply Bureau of the Southern Power Grid was put into operation in the distribution room of Taigang (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. in the Cuiheng New District of Zhongshan City, achieving millisecond-level power restoration for cable network faults, truly realizing "no power outage" and greatly improving power supply reliability.

It is understood that the Zhongshan Power Supply Bureau has successfully put into operation two sets of cooperative intelligent distributed power distribution automation systems in the Shiqi Daxin Phase II distribution room and the Dong District Zima Bending distribution room. Together with the dual-ring network fast-breaking intelligent distributed power distribution automation system put into operation this time, it marks the comprehensive completion of the Southern Power Grid's first full series of dual-strategy 10 kV intelligent power distribution automation system pilot project, which is an important milestone in the construction of the intelligent power grid across Zhongshan City. The bureau has now begun comprehensive promotion and construction.

As a new model of power distribution automation, the intelligent distributed power distribution automation system involves multiple new technologies for the distribution network. The main leaders of the Zhongshan Power Supply Bureau personally took charge, with close cooperation among various departments such as planning, equipment, infrastructure, systems, materials, and the Zhongshan Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. as the project design unit. They focused their efforts on independently designing automation action logic, protection device configuration, and other content, overcoming difficulties in theoretical demonstration, logical design, equipment procurement, and information integration, ensuring the smooth completion of the pilot project and achieving all planned functions.

Currently, the intelligent distributed power distribution automation system of the Zhongshan Bureau can adapt to three wiring forms: single-ring network, dual-ring network (open-loop), and dual-ring network (closed-loop). A complete management model has been formed, officially entering the "fast track" for comprehensive promotion and construction. It is reported that the bureau's power distribution automation system will achieve a comprehensive upgrade from "local type" to "intelligent type" during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, assisting in the implementation of the intelligent power grid planning across the city and providing solid support to achieve the goal of Zhongshan's reliability indicators reaching world-class leading standards by 2020.
